Kaloyan Velinov – Kalata.
How old are you?
I’m 23.
How long have you been a part of the BHALG Theatre?
I’ve been a part of the BHALG Theatre since February of 2017. I’ve been doing theatre non-professionally since 2013.
What is the funniest story you’ve had while performing or during rehearsals?
During one of our rehearsals, I had some trouble explain the concept of “mise en scène” also known as scene movement. Since he clearly wasn’t getting it I had to use some pretty wild metaphors and 2minutes later we were wandering “The land of mise en scène”.
What made you chose acting?
I never did. It chose me on its own. I went to my first audition as a joke, but I took a liking to it so I kept going. subconsciously I wanted to learn more about the craft until I slowly turned into someone capable of anything for that next step. Even now when I perform on the big stage I yearn for more.
What advice would you give to the people who want to pursue acting but lack the professional qualifications?
If you want it, do it! Only know, that it’s not gonna be easy and there will be moments when you regret your choice. Don’t look for fame and money. If that’s your goal, art is not the way for you. Seek improvement and fulfillment – that’s where the true price lies.
